Check-Ups

Since bringing Coleman home we've been back to the doctor's office twice. The first check-up was 2 days after Coleman's discharge from the hospital. The doctor just wanted to make sure he was continuing to breathe well on his own. Coleman passed the medical exam with flying colors. He was breathing just fine on his own and even managed to pass his birth weight. He weighed in at 6 pounds 10 ounces.

The second check-up was his 2 week exam. Again Coleman passed the medical exam with flying colors. He weighed in at 7 pounds 1 ounce and measured 19 3/4 inches long. I think it's clear that our little boy has a healthy appetite!

To answer Aunt Mechelle's question, Scout and Smokey Joe have taken well to little Coleman. When they first met him they sniffed him and then laid down. They acted like he's been part of the family all along. Smokey Joe likes to cuddle up next to us when I'm feeding Coleman. Scout likes to check things out if Coleman starts crying. Neither one of the dogs have shown any signs of jealousy. It's been great!

Last Saturday we invited some of our close friends over to our house to meet Coleman. It was a lot of fun. Ben grilled some delicious taco burgers. We've been so blessed to have good friends as part of our support system.

We're really looking forward to having family out here to meet Coleman.
