Iron Chef

This Friday Ben competed in a "Greasy Spoon Contest" (cook off) at our Air Force Squadron's Annual BBQ Bash. And just in case you didn't know my Benny can cook!!!

Ben was up the whole night before preparing his famous Cowboy Beans (extra spicy). He made a homemade steak marinade with fresh squeezed orange and lemon juice, jalapeno peppers amongst other things. He whipped up fresh homemade salsa and guacamole! And when I say "whipped up" I mean spent hours preparing it. He put the meaning into the phrase "I was up all night making it!"

He used all of these tasty treats to present the 3 judges with delicious Steak Fajitas with a generous side of Spicy Cowboy Beans.

You might be asking, "What about his competition?" Hmm..let's see...nothing to speak of really. One guy made some ribs. Another guy made some hamburgers...Who really cares! Nothing could compete with Ben's homemade...everything!

It should have been obvious who was going to win when the judges came back to Ben for second helpings.

Yes, my Benny won the Greasy Spoon!

I am so proud of him. And I am extremely lucky to have such a talented husband. (In case you didn't know, my cooking is nothing to speak of.)
