Coleman's First Birthday and Benny's First Father's Day

Coleman turns one today! I can't believe how quickly this year has passed. Coleman has grown so much. He's brought so much joy into Ben's and my life!

Yesterday Ben and I threw Coleman a Finding Nemo themed birthday party with all of our friends and their children and Ben's family. Ben's family flew in from California just to celebrate with us. And Coleman's been loving all the attention. (I'll post more pictures later.)

Today is also Benny's first Father's Day. How appropriate that it happens to be on Coleman's first birthday! Benny is such an amazing daddy. Coleman and I love him so much!

We Moved!

Hello Everyone! So much has happened since I lasted updated this blog. Ben and I are homeowners!!! Ben, Coleman and I moved into our new home in the beginning of May. The transition went well. Ben packed up our whole house and moved us with the help of some friends. I was working crazy hours all the while and don't know what I would have done without Benny. We're just getting adjusted to life in a new place.

Our new place is a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom duplex with a big backyard (built in 1973). The kitchen and bathrooms were just remodeled and there was new carpet and tile put in. Ben has painted the family room, dining room and Coleman's room so far. It's really coming along.

These pictures were taken before we moved in (when the house was still staged). And as you can see Coleman had a blast "helping" Ben pack!

I did it!

I completed my first marathon, The Country Music Marathon in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday (April 25)! I finished in 4 hours 57 minutes and 13 seconds in 85 degree weather! I definitely wasn't ready for that kind of heat, considering I did most of my training in the winter months.

My cousins, Lindsay, Jon and Danielle also completed the race. They ran it last year too, and convinced me to join them this year. It was great to see them and experience my first marathon with them.

Ben, Coleman and my Uncle Dan were our cheer squad. They went to various parts of the course and cheered us on. We needed that encouragement!

Coleman was an angel the entire trip, even the 12 hour drives.

On a related note, I run the Nashville Country Music Marathon this Saturday. Wish me luck!!!!!

Nice Weather

We've had some nice weather off and on the last few weeks. On one of the nice days Ben took Coleman, Scout and Smokey Joe to play at the park near our house. Coleman was fascinated with the grass. Our camera is still broken so these pictures were taken with Ben's cell phone again. The quality's not great but we need to capture Coleman's cuteness somehow! We're planning on buying a new camera soon.

Old Pics

Over the holiday season our good friend, Kyle, came to visit. Kyle is a big history buff so while he was here we visited a lot of historical sites in the area. These pictures are from our New Year's Eve trip to Philidelphia where we visited Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. We also visited Mount Vernon, George Washington's personal estate. And of course we toured Washington D.C. once again. It was fun and we learned quite a bit.
